What you see above is our best look at Acura ZDX 2024. The SUV, although not quite production-ready (mostly temporary headlights), is completely and completely devoid of camouflage that obscures the lines. The resulting car is clearly a toned down Exact EV conceptand the one that does a good job of hiding it GM fundamental.
Like the concept version, it has a forward-facing nose with an empty version of Acura company’s pentagonal grille. The long nose gives way to a severely rugged windshield and a floating roof. That roof has a different rear pillar treatment with a slight notch for the rear glass to give it a floaty look.
Of course, there are concessions to reality. The lower front has a relatively normal grille, although they don’t detract from the rest of the car either. And of course there are large door mirrors and the usual handles for entry.
The ZDX will be based on the GM Ultium platform and considering its size and operational capabilities, will likely be closely related to Chevy Blazer. To the credit of Acura’s designers, and perhaps also to GM’s architecture, the ZDX doesn’t look like a reworked car. jacket. And the difference will continue beyond the outside. While GM will remove Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Honda and Acura Ultium SUV versions will keep the phone mirroring software. It will still include Google apps and touchscreen support, unlike some gasoline-powered Acura models.
We shall see ZDX coming out next year. It will even have a high-performance Type-S variant like TLX And integral. That leads us to believe that something like the 557hp dual-motor powertrain from the Blazer SS will be available. We’ll be curious to see what the lighter powertrains will look like, if they’ll all be dual-motor or if there will be single-engine setups. And if there is a single engine layout, whether they will be front- or rear-wheel drive, as both options are available on the Blazer.
