Abandoned dog hides in the corner for 6 years until someone confesses her love
When the rescuers met Ducky, the poor dog had the scariest eyes they had ever seen. But Ducky’s fear is well-founded because she has been hiding in the same corner of a house for about six years. She is one of 20 animals in a state of hoarding. The poor animals were locked in a small room where they were never loved.
Poor Ducky was seriously injured and froze to death on the spot when rescuers arrived. Ducky has been described as “wild and in need of a takedown”, but rescuers know she deserves a chance. With proper care and love, the shy puppy has finally come out of his shell and embraced a new life.
6 years in a corner
Sky Sanctuary Rescue in Scottsdale, Arizona, has come to rescue 20 pets from their abandoned home. The room was full of dogs with different personalities and the floor was full of animal waste. Many dogs are friendly, but Ducky is the most nervous. She backed into the corner of the room as far as she could.
Elli, the founder of the rescue, said: “When I arrived and entered the bedroom, I found her in the corner and her little eyes were just looking at me for help. “She stared into my soul and was like, ‘Please get me out of this place!’”
When Elli reached out to stroke Ducky, the puppy remained as stiff as possible. It was as if she didn’t know what it felt like to be touched. Elli brings Ducky home and cleans her up. She shaved all the blankets off her body and bathed it for a long time, and soon Ducky looked and acted like a different dog.
Elli said: “As soon as we took those rugs off, she literally came to life.
Elli had four other bitches, and Ducky fell in love with them right away. She seemed more comfortable around her adoptive siblings than around any human, but Elli worked hard to earn her trust.
Embrace her new life
Even in foster care, Ducky is still worried and scared, but other dogs have given her confidence. With love and training, Ducky slowly comes out of his shell.
“Ducky’s personality has changed a lot since we first got her. I can say that after three weeks in our care, she has found her voice again,” Elli said. “She started saying what she wanted and just playing and she got really goofy and she really became a happy girl with the other animals.”
When Elli believed Ducky had the confidence to thrive in a permanent home, she prepared her for adoption. It didn’t take long for a great adopter to express an interest in Ducky. A woman named Sheryl adopted Ducky and welcomed her into her dog family. Ducky quickly acclimated to Sheryl’s house as if she had always lived there.

“I can honestly say I never thought this day would come—not because I didn’t think anyone would want Ducky, a lot of people did, but because I didn’t think she would get it. confidence needed to thrive in a typical society. home page. I don’t think a dog that has gone through so many years of sloppiness can come back like her. I don’t think I could trust anyone else to keep her safe—but I was wrong,” the rescue team wrote on Facebook.
Ducky continues to thrive in her permanent home, all thanks to humans who haven’t abandoned her.
