Dogs who have lived on the streets all their lives are often the most nervous and fearful when around people, even if they are just puppies. However, they deserve love and comfort just like any other dog.
In a video posted on “Love Furry Friends – Rescue Channel” on YouTube, a puppy named Lucy is living like a stray. When the humans saved her, she was extremely scared and wary, but eventually she realized that humans can be kind and loving. However, shortly after the rescuers brought her in, they learned that Lucy’s mother was also a local stray.
Two People Lost in Fear
When rescuers found Lucy, the puppy refused to let humans touch her or approach her. She takes food, but she will run away whenever they try to get close to her. Eventually, one of the women was able to pick up the puppy, but Lucy remained dumbfounded with fear even when she arrived at a comfortable foster home.
After a few days, Lucy opened up to her adoptive mother and became more affectionate, but she was still a bit reserved. After posting a video of Lucy’s rescue online, someone contacted the channel to let them know that Lucy’s mother lives in the same area where the puppy was found. So it was the rescuers who decided to save Lucy’s mother and reunite the two of them.

Lucy’s mother was friendlier than the puppy, but she was understandably worried. She let the rescuers pick her up and they named her Rozy. They took Rozy to the vet, where they learned that she was between 8 and 10 years old. Sadly, she has tested positive for heartworms, so she will need to stay calm during treatment.
When Rozy’s veterinary checkup was over, the rescuer took her home so she could see her puppy again.
Lucy and her mother reunite
Like Lucy, Rozy is very nervous at home. She was not used to luxury and comfort. When Rozy’s rescuer puts her down in the video, Lucy is curled up on a nearby bed, watching curiously. At first, Lucy lay on the bed wagging her tail, but she didn’t seem to have the courage to approach the new dog.
Then, when Lucy smelled something familiar, she cautiously walked over to Rozy. When she got close enough, she started going crazy. Lucy jumps around and even climbs under her mother as her tail flies all over the place. Without a doubt, Lucy recognized her mother.
At first, Rozy seemed uninterested in the hyperactive puppy, but eventually, she became comfortable with the familiar face. Instead of sleeping separately in a dog bed, the two adorable dogs cuddled up. Soon, sharing a bed became a warm habit for this mother-daughter duo.
These two dogs are currently inseparable and they will be put up for adoption once their adoptive mother thinks they are ready. If possible, they will stay in the same house forever to feel more confident in their new environment.
