A Review of the Sigma 14mm f/1.4 Art Lens

Back in 2017, Sigma released the 14mm f/1.8 Art, a lens which offered the widest maximum aperture seen in a full frame 14mm lens by more than a full stop. Now, they have released the 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art, which offers even more light-gathering power and sits as the world’s widest f/1.4 full frame lens. Can its performance and image quality match those impressive specs? This great video review takes a look at what you can expect.

Coming to you from Evan Ranft, this excellent video review takes a look at the new Sigma 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art lens. I was a huge fan of the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 when I reviewed it, so much so that I bought a copy for myself after I returned my review unit. Besides obvious applications like astrophotography, the combination of an ultra-wide focal length and extremely wide aperture enables creative opportunities that simply would not be possible otherwise, making it the sort of lens you just enjoy taking out to see what you can make. On top of that, it offered fantastic image quality. The new f/1.4 version doubles down on all those qualities, making it all the more desirable, and it looks quite impressive. Check out the video above for Ranft’s full thoughts on the lens.
