When we approached this dog from behind, it looked perfectly fine.
But when we got close to her face, we understood why she remained completely silent. Her eyes were broken from the impact of a passing car. Her pain must have been devastating. She was shocked and seemed afraid to move a muscle. Rescuing her was easy: she remained like a statue. On arrival at the hospital, our medical team realized her eye had been hopelessly damaged and required surgical removal. As she recovered from the surgery and her pain was greatly reduced, the bright light of her love shone across her entire face.
