Most people are familiar with DJI’s consumer drones, but beyond that, the company makes some impressively powerful and specialized business drones. Matrice 30 Enterprise is the latest release at that level, and it offers some impressive new features. This great video has a first look.
Coming to you from Potato Jets, this excellent video introduces the new DJI Matrice 30 Enterprise drone. The Matrice 30 Enterprise is quite impressive, offering a level of ruggedness and weather resistance not usually found in drones. As DJI said, it can handle:
heavy rain, high winds, high altitude, even in icy and snowy conditions from -20°C to 50°C
In addition, DJI has a simpler folding system than previous Matrice drones, a flight time of 41 minutes and the most attractive: a robotic mounting system for fully autonomous flight, called DJI. Dock. The dock comes with its own weather station, dedicated surveillance cameras, communication antennas, and an impressive 25-minute fast charging system. The dock also supports 4G communication via a dongle.
When it comes to more standard features, the Matrice 30 comes with a 48-megapixel 1/2-inch CMOS sensor with 5-16x optical and 200x digital zoom, 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, laser rangefinder with reach 1,200 meters. and an optional 640 x 512 pixel radiometric camera. The drone also comes with a six-way obstacle avoidance sensor and an impressive landing feature with three propellers in the event of engine or propeller failure.
Obviously, the Matrice 30 Enterprise isn’t meant for the average consumer, but it’s exciting to see these new features and hopefully, we’ll see a smaller number. The drone will start at $10,000 and go up to $14,000 with all options. Expect to see it later this year.
