A guide to the new portrait retouching features in Capture One 23

Capture One 23 is here, and it brings with it a host of new features and upgrades that are sure to please many photographers. As always, there is a strong focus on portrait photography. This great video will walk you through some of those new features and show you how to use them to improve your portrait retouches and make them more effective.

Coming to you from Eli Infante, this excellent video takes you through some of the new portrait features in Capture One, including enhanced import and selection, smart adjustments, and style layers. I’m particularly excited about smart adjustments, which act as a smarter version of copy-and-paste things like exposure adjustments by taking into account faces and skin tones to help ensure accuracy. consistency across large photo series, something wedding and event photographers in particular strive for. If you haven’t tried Capture One for portrait editing yet, it’s well worth a shot. Many professionals prefer it to Lightroom and Photoshop, especially for the way it handles color, making it a favorite target for portrait, wedding, and landscape photographers. Check out the video above for the full recap from Infante.
