A Derm Shares 11 Best Tinted Moisturizers For Oily Skin

Colored moisturizer was never really my thing in the past. Even now, I consider myself a Full coverage platform kind of girl, but I’m ready to try new things. I mostly stay away from tinted moisturizers as my skin can be very picky. It’s dehydrating but can still be greasy on the surface, an unpleasant problem if your skin is also sensitive and prone to breakouts (like mine). Now I’ve finally nailed down a skin care routine works for me and keeps my skin clean, I wanted to start experimenting with tinted moisturizers for lighter coverage.

Although my acne is much better, the oil problem still seems to cause its ugly head. That’s why I decided to ask a board-certified dermatologist Lauren Penzi, MD, for advice on this matter. She says to avoid clogging ingredients in moisturizers that can clog your pores like paraffin, mineral oil, lanolin, and petroleum. She also mentions that it may take a few other tweaks to make sure your skincare routine is optimized for your skin type. “Avoiding alcohol-based products may seem to help temporarily, but in the long term it will make skin greasier as the skin tries to compensate for the loss of sebum by producing more oil,” she says. For her tinted moisturizers and some of my own favorites for oily skin, keep reading below.
