Along with aperture and ISO, shutter speed is one of the basic parameters that controls the exposure of an image and gives you creative latitude to frame the frame as you see fit. Coming to you from Dylan Goldby, this great video tutorial will show you how to better control the shutter speed in your images. One mistake I often see newer photographers make with regards to shutter speed is keeping it too slow in an attempt to keep the ISO as low as possible, resulting in blurred images due to camera shake or movement. of subjects. You can always work with noise from using high ISO in post-processing, and modern software is already able to reduce noise significantly while maintaining sharpness. On the other hand, if the image is blurred due to camera shake or subject movement, there’s not much you can do to save it. A noisy but sharp image is always a better choice. Check out the video above for a full rundown from Goldby.
