There are certainly a lot of similarities between photos and videos, but there are also some fundamental differences that you need to keep in mind to ensure the best results. Just like in the image area, aperture is a fundamental parameter in video, but in general you have to treat it a little differently. In video you have less freedom over your shutter speed, as you will normally want that to follow the 180 degree rule to ensure natural movement, which means it should be set to the inverse of twice the frame rate (for example, if shooting at 30 fps, set the shutter speed to 1/60 sec).
