Delaware Stakeholders Donate $20,000 to PDJF

Delaware Park Casino, the Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemanship Association (DTHA), the Delaware Horsemen’s Health and Welfare Foundation and the Delaware Park Horsemen’s Association teamed up to donate $20,000 to the Permanently Disabled Horsemen’s Fund (PDJF) today.

The cheque was presented after the tenth race of today’s special eleven-race Owners’ Day card.

Delaware Park has developed a unique funding mechanism for the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Donation Fund. During the live racing season, each jockey will donate one dollar from each riding fee and Delaware Park Casino, the Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemanship Association and the Delaware Jockeys Health and Welfare Fund will each contribute one dollar.

“I am so proud of our riders and our community for coming together to support such an important organization,” said Kevin DeLucia, CFO at Delaware Park. “We are so fortunate to have such a great group of riders at Delaware Park. They risk so much to bring us exciting rides, and this is our small way of saying ‘thank you’ for not only being exceptional riders, but for being leaders in our industry.”
