Selangor State Government Uses Jetpatcher Machine to Repair Roads; Only 15 Minutes Per Pothole

Selangor state government aims to speed up pothole repair process with new Jetpatcher machine purchased from UK, reports Selangor Magazine.

Selangor state executive adviser on infrastructure and agriculture Izham Hashim said the RM1 million machine only takes 15 minutes to repair a pothole, compared to current methods that take more than an hour per pothole.

“Typically, pothole repairs require a team of 15 people. The process involves cutting the hole to size, drying it, and then applying the patch. Rain can delay the repair for several days. With the new method, only two people are needed to operate the Jetpatcher and two more to manage traffic. The machine can patch about 80 holes in a day if used continuously,” Izham said.

The new machine is said to deliver superior results and higher quality patches than traditional methods, according to reports.

“Begin [September 10]The machine will be used to patch roads around Kuala Selangor. There will be 15 trainees operating the machine under the supervision of representatives from the UK. If the results are satisfactory, we plan to buy more machines,” said Izham.
