Ford Bronco Thief Tries to Drive Over Cop Car, Knows Not All Off-Road Vehicles Are Monster Trucks
When Ford Bronco has been introduced, with Sasquatch crawling on rocks decorationWe all thought the same thing: “Sure, this would be the perfect car to steal if I knew I was going to have to run over a cop car while escaping a Tim Hortons.” Wait, didn’t you all think that too?
Well, a thief in Canada certainly did. Police cornered a stolen Ford Bronco Sasquatch inside a Tim Hortons fast-food drive-thru in Mississauga, Ontario, and crammed both a Charger and a Durango cruiser into the truck. But instead of giving up the chase, the Bronco driver decided to simply see what those beadlock wheels could handle—and managed to run over both vehicles on the way out.
The Bronco easily passed the Charger, with its lower hood, and even managed to put a wheelie on the Durango. However, the angle was too great even for the Sasquatch package, and the thief pulled the Ford back away from the cruisers.
Canadian authorities have arrested the Bronco driver, but have yet to release information on what GOAT mode the vehicle was in when it attempted to climb the hill. I won’t say that sure It could outsmart the other two with the right combination of electronic mods and a good observer, but given its relative success unaided it might still have a chance.
The Sasquatch package on the Bronco may be a boon for those who want to climb, but it doesn’t turn your shiny new Ford, still under warranty, into a Grave Digger. Crawling should be done slowly and methodically in your factory-fresh vehicle, not haphazardly under the pressure of time. And arrest.
