Roommates, it’s official: Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce Ben Affleck after two years of marriage. Moreover, the singer’s application was filed right on the second anniversary of their second wedding.

According to TMZ, Lopez has officially filed the paperwork in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Furthermore, the outlet notes that unlike most filings—which are typically filed by attorneys on behalf of their clients—Lopez did this one herself.
To add even more interest, the outlet notes that Lopez’s filing today coincides with her and Ben’s two-year wedding anniversary. Page Six notes that the couple originally eloped in Las Vegas in July 2022. However, on August 20, 2022, the couple officially tied the knot in a ceremony in Georgia.
Additionally, according to TMZ, Lopez reportedly listed her and Affleck’s separation date as April 26, 2024. Additionally, the singer’s documents reportedly do not state whether she and Affleck have a prenuptial agreement. Sources say no agreement was ever made.
“That means any income or profits Ben and Jen earned during their nearly two years together are joint property,” the source said.
Finally, TMZ notes that Lopez has reportedly waived her rights to spousal support and is reportedly asking the judge to “deny support to Ben.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, Lopez announced her engagement to Affleck in April 2022. The couple reportedly rekindled their romance last year after dating and even getting engaged in the early 2000s.
Then, in July of that year, J. Lo confirmed that she and Affleck had married in a ceremony in Las Vegas, according to The Shade Room.
“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years of patience,” she wrote in a newsletter reportedly sent to her fans at the time.
Back earlier this year, it was reported that Lopez and her husband were living separately, according to The Shade Room. However, in May, the couple were spotted together, seemingly putting to rest speculation that they were on the verge of splitting.
Later that month, Lopez even became famous for checking up on a reporter when they asked about the possibility of her and Affleck splitting, according to The Shade Room.
