Couple who lost two puppies get one puppy back, after hearing news about the remaining dog
Being an animal rescuer can be challenging, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy, a rescue organization in Irvine, California, is all too familiar with the joy that comes from giving animals a chance at a better life. This was evident when Good Samaritans alerted her to two puppies wandering around a neighborhood park. Tragically, one of the puppies disappeared, and soon after, the other was found alone. The situation worsened one evening.
“Yesterday I got a message that the dog was running wildly down a busy street. When I got there, I saw the dog but everyone was stopping and chasing after it. My heart sank, one wrong move and the dog would have been hit by a car,” Hall shared on Facebook. She quickly approached and steered her truck in front of the frightened puppy, leading it into a nearby schoolyard. Hall then coordinated with passersby to close the school gates, preventing the puppy from running away again.
Hall eventually found the dog cowering in a corner of the school. When she gently slid a trap over the dog’s head, the dog panicked and tried to escape. Despite the struggle, Hall refused to give up.
Eventually, she calmed him down, reassuring him that he was safe and that nothing would happen to him. That night, Hall drove around the neighborhood looking for her missing companion, but to no avail. Upon further investigation, the rescue team discovered that the rescued puppy’s name was Rocky, and that he belonged to a local family. They also learned that the missing puppy was his brother, Whiskey, who had also escaped when their owners accidentally left the gate open.
Rocky’s family was overjoyed to hear that he was safe and rushed to the shelter to pick him up. Meanwhile, Hall learned that Whiskey had been found by another shelter and listed as a lost dog.
Rocky’s owner wasted no time in heading to another shelter to reunite Rocky with Whiskey. “Oh, what a wonderful reunion. Friends reunited!” Hall exclaimed, celebrating the happy outcome of the ordeal.
