Hyundai Tucson Hybrid 2025 waiting time details


Hyundai Australia is putting a big focus on hybrids with the launch of the updated Tucson SUV, which will compete directly with the best-selling hybrid Toyota RAV4.

Company executives told the media at the launch in Australia Hyundai Tucson Hybrid 2025 While supply will be limited in calendar year 2024, at launch, orders for the electrified Tucson should take no more than three months to reach customers.

Around 2,700 vehicles have been delivered and are on their way to dealers, with a further 1,300 due to arrive throughout July. Another 1,000 are said to be sitting at docks in South Korea, awaiting shipment.

Hyundai Australia expects between 33 and 40 per cent of new Tucson sales to be hybrids, although this is dependent on supply challenges in the first year of production.

Last year, more than 21,000 new Tucsons were registered in Australia, representing sales of nearly 8,500 in the first year based on last year’s sales figures.

The 2025 Hyundai Tucson is available in Australia with no less than 17 different variants on offer – eight of which are hybrid models.

Prices start at $45,100 for the base FWD Tucson Hybrid, while the most expensive Premium N Line AWD trim tops the $60,000 mark at $61,100. All prices exclude on-road costs.

Compare then the most affordable price Toyota RAV4 GX 2WD Hybrid priced from $42,260 plus on-road costs, and tops out at $58,360 for the top-of-the-line Edge AWD Hybrid model.

Related Kia Sportage hybridMeanwhile, there are two specifications starting at $45,950 for the SX and $55,420 for the GT-Line. However, unlike the Hyundai, the Kia hybrid is not available with all-wheel drive in Australia.

Power for the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid comes from a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol-electric hybrid powertrain, combining the brand’s popular 132kW/264Nm 1.6 T-GDi petrol engine with a 47.7kW electric motor and a 1.49kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack.

System output is rated at 172kW and 367Nm – up 3kW and 2Nm over the old system used in the Kia Sportage and Sorento Hybrids – with combined fuel consumption rated at 5.3 litres per 100km for both FWD and AWD versions.

For comparison, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid offers 158-160kW of power and a claimed fuel consumption of 4.7-4.8L/100km, while the Kia Sportage Hybrid FWD has 169kW/350Nm and a fuel consumption of 4.9L/100km.
