Sony has released the new a7R V camera body. It’s packed with some incredible specs you couldn’t even dream of in a camera a few years ago, but is it really a game changer?
I can’t remember the specific year, but when I bought Canon 5D Mark IVHonestly, I thought it was the camera I would use for at least a decade. Its predecessor, the 5D Mark III, is a great horse that has stood the test of time for so many professional photographers in an incredible variety of fields. Therefore, I feel the 5D Mark IV will be my choice for a long time to come, especially given its specifications at the time. Well, didn’t time and technology prove me wrong? Cameras today are so full-featured that it’s almost a shame to compare them to many cameras from 5 to 10 years ago. With each new camera release, minds get confused as to what they’re packing under the hood.
And that brings us to this great video by Stefan Malloch, in which he walks us through the specs of the device. Sony a7R DRAW and give his thoughts on its place in the camera world and in the Sony product line. The camera is available for pre-order now and costs only around $3,900 for the body. Out of all the specs Malloch discussed, I think the 8-stop, 5-axis image stabilization stunned me the most.
