Second Life Podcast: Lisa Bühler
“In the world of fast fashion, our goal is to have a home for artists in the industry.” A company with powerful ethos and a wonderfully quirky name, Lisa said Gah has become a favorite paradise for independent designers and those interested in fashion discovery. And to answer the question we’ve all been thinking – yes, Lisa is real, and yes, she’s saying “Gah.” Meet Lisa Bühler, the passionate founder and CEO of the company, who has literally been saying “Gah” for the past decade. Used as a term of adoration rather than distaste, Bühler coined the phrase to define which items are worthy of your wardrobe. Bühler founded Lisa Says Gah in 2014 with the mission to create an e-commerce platform where independent designers, sustainable fashion and high-quality materials can live in harmony.
Since its launch, Lisa Says Gah has captured the attention of many, increasing sales impressively with a 300% increase in one of the most challenging years for brands, 2019-2020. Before building a brand that could change the world, Bühler spent a decade in the fashion industry observing the environmental impact of production and the dynamics of smaller brands than big brands – the last that served as the catalyst to start Lisa Says Gah. She is also a shopper at Nasty Gal, where she oversees the sourcing of dresses, outerwear, and sweaters.
