Cement truck crashes into 3 vehicles on the North-South highway, the driver goes to test for drugs


A cement truck collided with two other vehicles before hitting the highway divider and then hitting a third vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on the North-South Expressway (NSE) yesterday, New Straits Times reported.

Occurring at 10 a.m. yesterday at KM 336.3 of the NSE, the incident left the driver of a 4-wheeled vehicle with head injuries and caused the vehicle to crawl 3 km in both directions of the highway between Tapah and Bidor, according to reports. report.

According to police chief Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail, Tapah police chief said initial investigation showed that the cement truck was traveling in the left lane in the south direction when it collided with a 4WD vehicle and an Audi.

Wan Azharuddin said: “The collision caused the truck driver to lose control, the vehicle skidded and hit the highway divider before going in the opposite direction and colliding with a Toyota Yaris. Police Chief Tapah said the cement truck fell into the drain when it collided with Yaris, while the 28-year-old truck driver was uninjured.

Police are conducting urine tests on the truck driver and are investigating the incident under Section 43(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1987, Wan Azharuddin said.
