Canelo continues verbal attack on Golovkin – “I hate that mother”
Usually polite and respectful during his fights Canelo Alvarez does not hold back his opinions on Gennadiy Golovkin.
The two boxers will fight September 17 at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas for the third time with Golovkin yet to register a victory over the Mexican.
Ever since rumors of the war were spread the begin of the year Canelo has made it clear that he does not like the 40-year-old.
With the match officially announced, Canelo had his say in two press conferences and hasn’t given up since. Speaking to TMZ, he said:
“He’s not being honest, he’s an asshole.”
“He pretends [to] being a good person and being different but he is not. “
“He said a lot of nonsense about me, and he said that I respect him, his career and the other part he said no, he is ashamed of boxing, ashamed of boxing. Mexican brother. And in front of me he said no, I respect his profession, I respect this and this. I hate the bastard for that. “
The 31-year-old is currently the undisputed super-middleweight champion but entered the match in September after a defeat. Canelo tried to become the lightweight champion twice in May but failed Dmitry Bivol one step too far. And while he may have lost, there’s still pride in taking on another big challenge.
“No one likes to lose but I take risks, I feel proud of myself because I take risks. I don’t need to take that risk. I like that kind of adventure; kind of challenge and I feel proud of myself. “
“I feel sad after the loss, but I take the risk because I want to be a great person and I am looking for greatness. When you seek greatness, there are many things in front of you, difficult things. I’m still looking forward to it and I’m on that way.”
