Coloring the boxing world is not surprising. The third Canelo-Golovkin battle will take place on September 17 at – stay tuned – the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the exact location where the first two high-profile battles between the future Hall of Famers have been take place. The truth is, it all makes perfect sense. The first two Canelo-Golovkin matches brought in a lot of money and eyeballs – and placement has a bit more to do with that. There are a lot of dollars to be found in Las Vegas and the T-Mobile arena is the place to host high-end combat like one can find in “Sin City”.
It’s questionable whether the wear and tear Canelo and Golovkin have endured over time will be told in September. This fight was a deal breaker for both of them. The loser will be like yesterday’s news. Unless, of course, people feel the referees are clearly biased against Canelo. Without a doubt, the judges loved the red-haired star. Many, if not most fans felt Golovkin was robbed when his first match against Canelo ended in a draw. Some also felt that Golovkin was robbed in the second match against Canelo, as the referees ruled Canelo the winner.
