Uber announced its latest updated vehicle on Monday ahead of what is expected to be a busy travel and event season.
Features, announced in Go/Get virtual eventsconsists of:
- A new option that allows you to book passenger buses or vans.
- Trip itinerary feature to help book trips during an extended trip, such as a vacation, from one location to another.
- Order by voice
- A tram hub for motorists.
Uber has been working to become a “super app” as a way to diversify its services, which can help drive profits in the long run. For example, the company is adding trains, buses, planes and car rentals to its UK app this summer.

Uber travel
Uber will allow users to pre-book rides for each part of their journey at one hub on the app. A user first connects their Gmail account to the app, then Uber pulls the booking information and organizes flight plans, hotels, and restaurants into one place for a so-called “travel experience.” stress-free schedule”. Order by voice
Users can also start booking Uber Eats with their Google Assistant through a new integration. All a customer has to do is say “OK Google” and request to order a meal from a restaurant on Uber Eats. The feature has begun rolling out globally in English, and Uber will add more languages in the coming months.
EV hub and charging map
Uber has committed globally to being a zero-emissions mobility platform by 2040, but it will need to have drivers involved. Along with that, the company announced a new in-app system for drivers looking for more information about electric vehicles. The EV Hub is being billed as “a one-stop shop where they (drivers) can get information and motivation to join the electric revolution and even compare the cost of owning an EV to a the non-EV.” Uber is also adding a charging map to the Uber Driver app, showing where the nearest EV chargers are located, how fast they charge, and how to get there.
Uber Comfort Electric
Uber is launching comfortable electric vehicles, allowing users to ride premium electric vehicles, such as Tesla or Polestar. The feature is available Tuesday in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Dubai, and is expected to expand to other markets soon.
Coupons for events
Users can now cover travel expenses for event guests with vouchers. The organizer will enter the event details, the maximum amount they want to pay, and share the generated code with their guests. Guests will determine their own pick up and drop off times and location of their choice.
