For the next several months, Caleb Plant listened to opponents of him dismissing his chances against Canelo Alvarez. The two clashed all the way to super-middleweight marbles on November 6, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada earlier this year.

Though Alvarez has claimed time and time again that Plant has outdone him, the former 168-pound IBF player has proven otherwise. In the first, Plant employs an extremely tactical game plan, boxing and moving, and uses short attacks to string combos together.

Despite his success, Plant eventually succumbed to the power of the Mexican star in the 11th round. In the opinion of 29-year-old Nashville, Tennessee, their contest was to win before they could. everything came to an end all of a sudden.

“Probably 6-4,” Plant told a group of reporters. “It could be 5-5. I feel like I won a lot in those rounds. I knew I had a great fight, but in the end I was caught. ”

The dramatic ending Plant evaded, came after combining one of his stronger rounds. The deft star hit the ground in the 10th half and fired a shot at Alvarez while both men stood in the middle of the field. However, even with solid momentum in his corner, Alvarez changed the game in the ensuing period.

With Plant back in the corner on the penultimate round, Alvarez landed with a battered left hand and then quickly resumed his attack with an overhead lefthand. As a result, Plant touches the deck for the first time in his career. Seconds later, Alvarez lunged at his foe, delivering a number of hits that didn’t respond until referee Russell Mora signaled their contest.

Even when their contest took place a month ago, Plant could still remember the sequence of ending the fight. As well as what he did wrong.

“I was pulling out and I had my arm cut off but it almost went inside.”

From the moment Plant put his name on the dotted line to face Alvarez, he explained that being the undisputed world champion had always been his lifelong dream. While he believes he’s only minutes away from realizing that dream, he refuses to sulk on the sidelines for an extended period of time.

As for when the former player can expect to return to the ring, he could not reveal a specific date. That said, Plant assures everyone that he won’t spend a lot of time licking his wounds.

“By the first quarter of next year. I want to keep things moving.”
