TechRobot did a study using the social media checker Modash, which estimated the fake and real followers of some of the most famous celebrities and brands, from Donald Trump to Nike to Dwayne Johnson.
With Instagram being such an important social media platform for increasing brand awareness, it’s a great place for a company, celebrity or influencer to grow their following by posting content. interesting and engaging. To better understand how many of the most popular Instagram followers have genuine followers and how many have been unwittingly manipulated by fake followers or bots, TechRobot examined the top 10 accounts in the worlds of sports, music, film, politics, retail and television. Using a profile content and engagement rate analyzer to estimate which followers might be fake, here’s what they found:
Paris Hilton is the Instagram Account with the most fake followers as the bot increased her follower count by 28.6%.

As one of the biggest brands in the world, you might be surprised to find that Nike seems to have the highest number of fake followers of any of the brands that TechRobot analyzed, with 27.54% of the following: This is believed to be unreal.
However, Victoria’s Secret has the highest percentage of fake followers according to the study with 28.5% of followers allegedly being bots or other fake accounts.
Sportsman: Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo allegedly have a total of 134.14 million fake Instagram followers due to bots.

Actors: Research shows that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has an estimated 50 million fake followers on Instagram.
The movie stars analyzed by TechRobot with the fewest fake followers are clearly Gal Gadot, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr and Chris Hemsworth. They all have an average real following of over 75%. However, ‘The Rock’ has 5 times as many followers that are allegedly fake: 53.18 million of his massive 263 million followers are estimated to be not real. She’s got multiple endorsement deals with top brands that she advertises all over her Instagram. These brands include Ultra Beauty, Givenchy, Reebok, Guess, MAC, Starbucks, Fiat and even Samsung. Not to mention her own perfume, which, since 2015, has brought her over $150 million in the first two years of sales.
The musician with the largest number of fake followers discovered is Katy Perry. 27.8% of her followers are believed to be fake, which amounts to more than 36 million followers of her.
Politics: Joe Biden has the most trusted profile while Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama and Donald Trump have 17-23% of their followers allegedly fake.
Controversial former President of the United States Donald Trump has 24 million followers on Instagram, with 82.57% of which are “real” followers. Media personalities: Kim, Kourtney, Khloé Kardashian and Kris, Kylie, Kendall Jenner have estimated a total of 276.22 million fake followers.
