The number of smart watches on the market is staggering. We tested models from Tag Heuer, Citizen, Mont Blanc, Diesel oiland many other fashion brands, but most of them are simply too expensive for what you get. (Not to mention they are Wear OS watches that won’t be updated to the latest version). Here are some other options we like.
Casio PRT-B50 for $215: If you like the sound of the above Casio PRW61 but hate the price, consider this model. You get many of the same perks, like compass, altimeter, and barometer, but a lot less. It’s not made of biomass plastic and it doesn’t have solar charging, although its battery has a two-year lifespan. It do Tracks steps and can automatically adjust the time no matter where you are in the world. You can place virtual markers along a map-viewable route in the companion app (paired via Bluetooth), and it’s easy to return to them with the watch. It measures 50.8 mm.
Skagen Falster Gen 6 for $199: Except for the looks, this Wear OS smartwatch is similar to Fossil’s Gen 6 Smart Watch (which I don’t really like). It runs the same Snapdragon Wear 4100+ processor, and although it is currently running Wear OS 2, it will receive an update to Wear 3 . operating system This year. Performance is smooth — I can ask the Google Assistant to turn off the lights in my apartment, swipe the keyboard to send replies to friends, and easily change the color of the watch face to match his outfit. Has heart rate and sleep tracking, plus SpO2 measure. All results match my Apple Watch Series 7, though Skagen usually takes longer for me to get those numbers. It only lasts about a day with sleep tracking, but it recharges pretty quickly.
Fossil Hybrid HR Gen 6 for $249: This watch is functionally similar to the Skagen Hybrid HR Gen 6 above, but I don’t like wearing it very much. I tried Model StellaIt’s a bit too flashy, but I chose it because Machine model look a bit too much.
Mobvoi TicWatch E3 for $200: The E3 has the same speed processor as the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra above, and it will be upgraded to Wear OS 3. It doesn’t last as long, usually requiring recharging in the morning after sleep tracking (with the screen on). always on ), and the 44 mm case size is still quite large. Its fitness tracking results are similar to other watches I’ve tested with it, like the Galaxy Watch4. But my concern is about build quality: It’s pliable, feels cheap, and doesn’t look good.
