Sally Singer embodies every meaning of the term “flavor maker”, as she is known for her keen eye and innovation in fashion and the digital space. After a career spanning two decades at Vogue, she left last year for a new business as head of fashion direction at Amazon. The singer really gave us a glimpse of what it means to lead the fashion team for the retail giant. “My role involves advising my colleagues across all divisions of Amazon Fashion on what’s new and what’s next in the world of style,” she tells us. “Amazon has a global and fashion-diverse customer base (I’d say we bargain the world!), so that’s a huge responsibility and a great privilege.”
With her expertise and product knowledge, we thought it might be interesting to learn about Amazon just found The singer personally loves it and thinks it will resonate with customers everywhere in the next season. “When I shop on Amazon, I search for my ideas for ‘musts’ (i.e. clothes that are elegant, effective, and make me smile),” she explains. “‘Every day is extraordinary’ is my motto for 2022… Wear rhinestones, roses and pearls.” Oh, and in terms of the brands she looks at most in the fashion industry, they really run in sync. “At Amazon, I love seeing what The Drop does next‚ both influencers and staples collections,” she said. “I’m a huge fan of classic men’s workwear brands, so you’ll always find items from Carhartt, Champion and Levi’s in my cart. From The Shop by Shopbop, I shop for Vince and Rag & Bone. And from Luxury Stores, well, I just love it all.”
