“I know it’s an afterthought but be prepared to try on lots of jeans, in all different sizes — I always wear an outfit that’s easy to take off in the dressing room,” says Harrington. “All denim brands’ sizing systems are different, so I prefer to skip the sizing and shop with my eyes or use a tape measure. As for the fit, a stand-up style might be possible. Doesn’t fit me right from one brand but fits me perfectly in another. It’s all about finding your forever pair of jeans and it can take time. the pants fit perfectly, I usually buy it after many washes.
“Stick with what works for your figure or frame, which may not be the most on-trend style. Timeless, whatever that means to you, is. I also recommend investing in 100% cotton denim or better yet, organic or recycled cotton; the fabric will be stiffer at first but the jeans will last longer. If you like a little more comfort, look for denim with 1% elastane stretch.”
