3 Google Chrome Extensions to Boost Productivity I Never Heard of Before
The other day I wrote about three Google Chrome extensions which I plan to use in 2023 to make myself more productive (a rhetorically, less time-wasting) when I’m using the browser.
Well, some ZDNET readers feel free to reach out to suggest some more productive ways Google Chrome Extensions that I have never met before.
I have installed and used them, and here are three great apps that I want to share with you.

These will definitely get a lot of use in the coming year.
BlockSite: Block websites and focus
As the name suggests, this extension can be used to create block lists for websites you want to avoid, all the time or only during business hours.
Along with block lists, there are advanced features like scheduling, focus mode that lets you break large tasks into 25-minute chunks, adult content filters, and detailed insights tools. Details allow you to see how you’ve used your time.
Overall, this is a very powerful tool to help you take control of your time.

Unhook — Remove recommended YouTube videos
I love YouTube — I even pay for the premium service — but I find it to be one of those digital loopholes that can take my hours. I dip in to see something interesting or relevant, and after about five tangents, I accidentally watch a video about the importance of staying focused.

Unhook removes a host of YouTube distractions, including suggested sidebars, video recommendations at the bottom of the screen, user comments, video feeds related to the homepage, and the trends tab, as well as disable autoplay and captions, etc.
And the great thing is, I can disable the extension when I want to continue the viewing session full of tangents.

noisli
This extension allows you to play background sounds to help you focus when working, studying or relaxing by blocking other annoying noises.

Noisli creates a “personalized audio environment” with audio playlists to choose from.
This is one of those extensions that I was skeptical of at first, but I was amazed by how quickly it developed for me.
