Here’s a secret: I don’t like spending a lot of money on jeans. While it’s my whole truth denim collection including the usual suspects like Mother, Agolde and Hudson, in fact as a fashion editor most of my expensive pairs are gifts. It’s one of the advantages of the job but though the privilege of trying on some really great jeansit didn’t do much to change my trend towards cheap jeans.
I still think a $200 pair of jeans can be well worth the money, under the right circumstances, but it’s very rare to save a few bucks. Analysis my favorite style and pair, much of which is what I call moderately affordable—usually under $100 at retail, and on a good day (aka a sale) under $60. And every pair is trendy, quality and comfortable at double the price. Up front, I’m sketching out all of my favorite jeans from this great and cheap category.
