Yaasa weighted blanket

WIRED reviewer Medea Giordano says this is the best weighted blanket she has tried. It’s stiffer and feels heavy (we tested the 20-pound blanket), but the weight is evenly distributed and the lack of filling prevents it from clumping in one area. The open knit design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also allows air to circulate so you don’t feel too hot.

A comfortable gown is a necessity for all mothers. It can help make busy mornings a little more bearable and evenings quieter, more relaxing. This one from Therarobe is heavy. It’s not for running around the house, but it’s great for lounging on the couch or in your bed. As with some weighted blankets, the cape has small glass beads sewn in to help distribute the weight evenly. It is also machine washable.

This blanket received an honorable mention in our buying guide. It’s a great cooling blanket for sleeping alone. It’s also thin, so you don’t feel the heat underneath. It also comes in a variety of weight options, including 10, 12, 15, 17 and 20 pounds.

If you know Mom prefers a lighter option, Gravity’s cape has a 3-pound collar so it doesn’t weigh quite as much. It’s also super soft, easy to clean (you can remove the weighted beanbag to wash), and the weight is evenly distributed.

Another great blanket for travel, this one folds up beautifully and fits in an included bag. It is worth noting that the material is a bit noisy, similar to a sleeping bag. But we still think it’s a great choice.

The Breville Bambino is a great machine for moms who love the process of making a delicious cappuccino. It’s compact—making it ideal for even the smallest countertops—and comes with high-quality accessories like a measuring tool, pressure tape, and a stainless steel foam flask. However, this is not a machine for beginners; There is a learning curve and it requires proper care (such as rinsing the drip tray and wiping the steam wand).

We’ve named this machine the best all-in-one espresso machine in our market. shopping guide. In addition to making espresso, you can also grind beans And steamed milk. It is also durable. WIRED review editor Julian Chokkattu owns this model and says it’s still working flawlessly after more than four years. Its price dropped lower last month, but we still think it’s a solid deal.

ONE smart screen becomes a great home companion—you can use it to control smart home gadgets, check calendar events, video chat with loved ones, etc. Echo Show 10 is Our favorite Alexa-powered option. The 10-inch screen rotates 360 degrees to keep an eye on you with the camera while you’re on a call or viewing a recipe. You can also use it to play Amazon Prime videos, watch music playing (with playback controls), and make voice and video calls (with Zoom support).

Digital photo frames are a great way for Mom to display all her favorite memories without taking up too much space compared to a traditional picture frame. The Carva regularly drops to $149, but it still holds the title of best overall in our buying guide. It has a high-quality display, unlimited storage, and is extremely simple to use. Aura is running a Mother’s Day sale on additional frames, including Mason Luxe for $229 ($20) and Smith for $349 ($50 off).

Echo Dot with Clock is our favorite mini speaker. The small display is also useful for setting timers and alarms, in addition to checking the time.

If she fully trusts Amazon, she’ll love the Fire Stick TV 4K Max—with menus geared towards the company’s Prime Video app and buying content from the company’s own store. Compared to its predecessor, it is equipped with more upgrades, including more memory (2 GB vs 1.5), a picture-in-picture feature to view your security camera feed, and support Wi-Fi 6. For those who don’t care about Amazon, Apple or Google streaming devices, TiVo’s Stream 4K is a good alternative. It uses Android TV, organizes recommendations based on streaming services, with the ability to search for content on each service. Amazon Fire HD 8

Photo: Amazon

For moms who want a basic no-frills style pillthe Fire HD 8 is a good choice. Compared to its predecessor, the latest version has a slightly faster processor and slimmer design. Performance is also pretty good and it has plenty of battery life. It was previously reduced to $60, but we still think it’s a good deal. If you prefer more RAM along with wireless charging, Fire HD 8 Plus also on sale for $90 ($30 off).

If you’re looking for a tablet with a larger screen, there’s also the Fire HD 10 Plus. It has a resolution of 1080 pixels and 4 GB of RAM (for smooth performance, especially when using multiple apps). And with support for wireless charging, you can use landing like this to keep it working. It went on sale for an even lower price last month, at $120, but it’s still a solid deal.

iPad Mini (8/10, Recommend wired) is still my top recommendation if you’re looking for the best tablet to go with. It’s compact, makes it easy to slip into a backpack or bag, and the 8.3-inch screen is comfortable for streaming Netflix shows or reading e-books. Powered by the A15 Bionic processor (same processor on the iPhone 13), it’s also fast enough to handle demanding apps and games. And with second generation Apple Pencil support, you can use it as a notebook or sketch pad. It’s dropped to this price before, but it’s still a good deal.

Apple iPad (10th generation)

Photo: Apple

We do not recommend paying full price for this iPad (7/10, WIRED Review). But it’s a great deal at $400, the lowest we’ve tracked so far. The 10th generation version comes with a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, a USB-C port instead of Lightning, support for 5G connectivity, and a Touch ID sensor integrated into the power button. It is also powered by the A14 Bionic Chip (the same one in the iPhone 12), which delivers smooth performance.

If Mom already owns an iPad but is looking for a new case, we love this one from Speck. It comes with built-in grooves that let you position the tablet at various angles, a removable camera cover, a latch in place of a magnetic cover, and an Apple Pencil slot on the outside. This version is for the ninth generation iPad but it is also available for Air, 11 inch Pro, Pro 12.9 inchAnd iPad 10th generation.

For some moms, writing down a to-do list and scribbling notes on paper is essential to staying organized. But having a digital backup can also be extremely convenient. With the ability to read e-books, mom can free up space in her bag. If you use the code SCRIBE4MOM at checkout, you’ll also receive a $25 credit toward the eBook. This one is a bit more expensive than the Kindle Scribe, but it our favorite option for books. Using the stylus, you can mark up compatible ebooks and PDFs. It’s a great tablet for any mom applying to college (such as an English major who has to read a bunch of books every semester). They can also use it to view e-books from their local library with a library card.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite

Photo: Amazon

Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite is our top recommendation for most of people. It has a bright 6.8-inch screen with adjustable warm light and is waterproof, making it a great choice for moms who love to read in the bath, poolside, or on the beach. This version dropped slightly to $100 last month, but we still think it’s a great deal.

It’s the smallest Kindle available (6.2 inches tall and 4.3 inches wide), making it a great choice for moms who love to read on the go. It’s important to note that it’s not waterproof and doesn’t come with warm light or auto-adjusting lighting like the Paperwhite models. But Amazon revamped it last year, adding twice the storage (16GB), a higher-quality display (300 pixels per inch), and a USB-C port. The compact size also makes it comfortable to hold in one hand.
