The updated Polestar 2 2024 starts at $51,300 and is scheduled to begin shipping in August, the automaker announced Tuesday.
That base price, which includes a mandatory $1,400 delivery fee, is $1,500 more than the 2023 starting price, but the new model year brings many changes and improvements.
pole star has been promoting its scope little by little, but this year brings an especially big improvement. The base single-engine rear-wheel drive version is expected to travel 320 miles from the extended 82 kWh battery pack, compared with the EPA-rated 270 miles for the 2023 model year.

Two-motor four-wheel drive models, priced from $56,700 with destination, cover an estimated 276 miles with the 78 kWh package, up from an EPA-rated 260 miles in 2023. DC fast charging speeds maximum for all-wheel drive models is still 155 kW, but increases to 205 kw for single-engine models.
Single-engine versions are also now rated at 299 hp—68 hp more than before—and 361 lb-ft of torque, allowing for an estimated 0-100 km/h time. Polestar’s is 5.9 seconds. The dual-engine models make 421 hp and 546 lb-ft, with a 0-100 km/h sprint in an estimated 4.3 seconds.
Polestar also claims more standard equipment, including blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, parking assist sensors, a 360-degree camera system and auto-dimming mirrors. The Pilot Package is also standard on all-wheel drive models, adding adaptive cruise control and other driving aids.
2024 Polar Star 2
The Polestar 2 is made in China and therefore does not qualify for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit with purchase. But Polestar was one of the first automakers to publicly note in a press release that their vehicles are eligible for the IRA Clean Car credit. rental transaction—EV tax credit loophole, as it is known.
It is closely related to Recharge Volvo XC40 and Recharge C40which this year also creates a shift to rear-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive for four-wheel drive.
