2024 BMW Championship Prize Money and Prizes: Payout from $20M Fund for Second FedEx Cup Playoffs Event

The FedEx Cup Playoffs have been cut from 70 to 50 players, but the prize pool remains the same for the second leg. The BMW Championship doled out $20 million to players this week at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado. The winner, Keegan Bradley, not only took home $3.6 million, but also positioned himself better for more money ahead of next week’s Tour Championship.

Hideki Matsuyama won the first playoff event of the season and climbed to third in the FedEx Cup standings, but that only earned him his second-biggest payday of the year; he won $4 million for his victory at the Genesis Invitational. (Matsuyama eventually has withdrawn from this event. due to lower back injury.)

Scottie Scheffler has cashed in six separate PGA Tour events; he’s closing in on $30 million in earnings this season and more than $71 million in his career. In fact, with his most recent win at the St. Jude Championship, Scheffler has moved into the top five in career earnings on the PGA Tour, now behind only Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson.

The BMW Championship matches the regular season’s signature events in terms of the winner’s share, but those who finish lower in the standings will receive larger prize money. Everyone in the top 40 of the 50 will earn six figures, while those in the top 20 will earn more than $250,000.

Here are the winners of this year’s PGA Tour’s biggest events:

  • The watchman: Chris Kirk ($3.6 million)
