We review the all-new Suzuki V-Strom 800DE 2023, an off-road-ready midsize adventure bike that sits between the V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 1050. Until the 800 arrived, the V-Stroms were has a V- Twin engine (hence the “V-” in the name, but Suzuki now says it stands for “Versatile”).
The V-Strom 800DE is powered by a new 776cc Parallel-Twin engine that produces 83 hp at 8,500 rpm and 57.5 lb-ft of torque at 6,800 rpm. The same engine is also found in the new version Suzuki GSX-8S 2023″ clutch.
It also has 21-inch front wheels, spoked wheels (tubes required), 8.7-inch front/rear suspension travel and 8.75-inch ground clearance. The Suzuki Intelligent Ride system includes the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector with three throttle maps, traction control with three road settings and the “G” (cobble) terrain setting, ABS with multiple modes (also can be turned off at the back), and a quickshifter.
