Sherco engineers designed a completely new engine block that lost 4.5 kg in the process, was 28% lighter and down to just 16 kg.

A new, 13% lighter crankshaft has been added, saving 500 grams while the diameter is increased from 110mm to 116mm to increase inertia and significantly reduce weight at the shaft.

A new pre-compression system has been added to the bottom section to improve engine performance, along with a new forged cylinder with an angular design.

The intake air intake has been increased from five to seven for improved thermodynamics, and the cylinder cooling has also been redesigned, with a 24% increase in contact surface. The redesigned reed valve system also optimizes atomization and increases power at low revs.

The radiator and exhaust are both updated

The most compact five-speed transmission on the market has also been offered and is completely redesigned, 500 grams lighter with ratios optimized for test segments graded one through five. That’s combined with a more compact gear selector system that’s 28% lighter than before, with aluminum selectors that are articulated directly on the selector drum.

The new two-piece clutch cover is made of magnesium and features an integrated oil level check window and simplified transmission oil filling point.

A magnesium case also runs with the oil window

Behind the new shell is a diaphragm clutch system with three different modulation adjustment positions, as well as revised internals for improved comfort and control.

The internal water pump is mounted backwards to avoid contact between the coolant and the magnesium components.

Particularly noteworthy is the all-new test-specific fuel injection system. The premix system features a 32mm throttle body for optimum efficiency and response with reduced fuel consumption.

Barometric pressure, throttle position and temperature are all measured via a multifunction sensor, and the complete throttle body weighs just 350 grams.

The 6% lighter frame has been redesigned with revised geometry for a lower center of gravity and increased engine holding stiffness. Removable forged aluminum side guards improve accessibility and integrated polymer frame guards for increased ankle grip.

Lighter frame, increased rigidity, combined with a new lower and lighter swingarm

A lighter and lower swingarm is then connected to the frame to improve traction in dry and slippery conditions.

Newly modernized front headlight housings are run, and behind the headlight housings are two map switches, which have been relocated for improved protection and user convenience. The rear fender design has been updated to match the front fender and improve mud drainage.

Three redesigned clamps

The resigned triple clamp is 4% lighter, with bolts fitted to the back of each clamp and the steering pin now positioned on the bottom triple clamp.

The upgraded heatsink now runs 19 cores, providing improved cooling performance compared to a unit of the same size. The radiator coolant nozzle has been tilted forward 30° to simplify maintenance, and the guard grille is now equipped with clips for quick removal and mounting.

The new 2.2L fuel tank with integrated fuel pump developed by Sherco features a bypass recovery sub-tank to prevent fuel loss.

The fuel tank holds 2.2 L and has an easily accessible air filter

The volume of the air filter box has also been increased by 7% combined with a new 11% larger air filter core to increase power at low rpm, increase torque and improve engine response.

Meanwhile, the internal volume of the silencer body has been increased by 35% to improve torque and durability. A thermoforming compression system has been added to increase life, and as a result, disassembling and packing the muffler has become simpler and easier.

Updated headlights, with tail to match

The driver’s controls haven’t been forgotten, with the gearshift lever and rear brake pedal now sporting tips featuring metal injection molding (MIM) technology and an anti-clog hinge system.

New micro-steel footpegs improve center stability, absorb mud and increase grip. Each foot pin is fastened without a nut and has a sag stopper.
