In February of this year, Polaris introduced Signature slingshot limited edition added three-tone paintwork, bronze wheels and LED lighting in the cabin. With the 2023 Slingshot product line, the rest of the lineup uses bolder color capabilities in the way of LE Signatures. Specific trims add new colors to the palette such as Pacific Teal, Lime Shadow and Miami Blue Fade. The vented sports hood is standard on the Slingshot R and can be ordered in 16 colors, combining palettes. That hood is an upgrade on the 2023 models and can be purchased in the accessories store for any 2020 model or later. Other options for extending the riding season are the Slingshade T hood with color windowand three-stage heated seats.
On Slingshots with navigation, the infotainment system connects to a phone wirelessly or by cable, runs Apple CarPlay and works with Polaris’ app-based Ride Command technology that can manage route planning , turn-by-turn navigation and connect a group of drivers on a ride together. The customer requested a phone holder and rearview mirror, which Polaris has already shipped, but they won’t be available in the accessory store until spring 2023. The rearview mirror works on upgraded models with a canvas roof. Excursion fits any car model from 2022 onwards. Aesthetic highlights include the XK Glow Interior LED Lighting System that glows in the full RGB spectrum along the center console, in the footrests and under the seats. Several options in the sound Rockford Fosgate excel with with a 100-watt system that places the speakers in coil loops.
The engine is the Slingshot’s base unit in three lower trims, a 2.0-liter ProStar four-cylinder with 178 horsepower and 120 pound-feet of torque. Buyers who want the 203 horsepower of the Slingshot SLR and R versions can purchase the Stage 1 tune for $629 from Polaris, but they’ll still drop 144 lb-ft for the other versions.
Price up around $700. Here are the MSRPs for the 2023 Slingshot range in manual and automatic transmissions (M/AM) which Polaris calls AutoDrive fixtures. Add $300 to the displayed price for the California MSRP.
