2023 BMW M 1000 RR – With top speed M … 314 km/h
2023 BMW M 1000 RR
With the recent announcement New S 1000 RR now standard with many sets of accessories that make the M 1000 RR so special, we were wondering what would become the M model, we found out this morning!
While there’s no more power for 2023 compared to the current model’s 212 hp, BMW is claiming,’Top speed significantly increased with significantly increased downforce thanks to the new windscreen, new M Winglets, new front wheel housings with integrated M Brake Hoses and new M Aero wheel covers. ‘
BMW in the air
The increased potential of the new M RR is above all thanks to the huge advancement in the field of aerodynamics. In particular, the newly designed crankcase made of visible carbon fiber with a taller windscreen enhances the top speed significantly along with optimal airflow around the driver.
For the first time, this crank also comes with an exceptionally lightweight yet very stiff carbon fiber front bumper support. The top speed of the new M RR has increased from 306 to 314 km/h compared to the previous model. In addition, M RR riders benefit from noticeable physical relief.
During this aerodynamic development, the M Winglets were also completely revised. They now produce significantly more aerodynamic downforce – both in the upright position and while driving.
Drivers are even more confident looking at the front wheels to be able to achieve greater pitch angles or higher cornering speeds at the same angle and benefit from the downtrend of the wheels. At the same time, the driver benefits from a significantly increased top speed.
Another central point in optimizing overall aerodynamics is the front wheel area. Here, for the first time in the history of BMW Motorrad, a visible carbon fiber brake cooling air duct – or brake duct for short, is used. They are integrated into the new front fender, which has been optimized to improve airflow around the fork feet and brake calipers.
The M Aero wheel covers, also made of carbon fiber, can see even lower air resistance – especially at speeds above 250 km/h. M Aero Wheel Covers are intended for the M RR M Competition.
The new M RR is available in two versions. As the base variant M RR comes in non-metallic Lightwhite for the fuel tank, tank side panels, airbox cover and rear section, as well as M RR M Competition in Blackstorm metallic for the fuel tank and tank side panels. , which is complemented by an airbox cover and visible carbon fiber rear and tinted windshield. Both variants feature a lightweight, finely crafted carbon fiber crankcase visible with an M Design band.
