2023 Audi Q8 e-tron EV debuts in Southeast Asia – debut in Malaysia in June; Estimated RM369k-RM476k


The new Audi Q8 e-tron made its debut in Southeast Asia at the House of Progress presentation, which will take place at the ArtScience Museum from March 31 to April 16 this year. The all-electric SUV is revealed globally last November and now Open for booking in Malaysia.

As a brief recap, the Q8 e-tron will be available in the advanced 50 and S line 55 versions, with both the quattro all-wheel-drive quattro powertrain also being offered for the Sportback version of the car. SUVs. In total, there are four options, with an estimated price of RM369,000 to RM476,000.

The vehicle seen here is officially the advanced Q8 e-tron 50 quattro, which features a lithium-ion battery with a total energy capacity of 95 kWh (89 kWh usable). This is good for a range of 410 km according to PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM), Importer and distributor of Audi in Malaysia.

The battery powers a pair of electric motors that deliver a total system output of 340 PS (335 hp or 250 kW) in boost mode as well as 664 Nm of torque. These figures allow the car to reach a top speed of 200 km/h, with the first 100 km/h achieved after six seconds when accelerating from a standstill.

In terms of equipment, this Q8 e-tron is equipped with adaptive air suspension, ambient lighting package plus, MMI Navigation plus MMI touch feedback, virtual cockpit plus, wireless charger, air conditioning four-zone climate control, parking assist plus 360-degree camera, Audi front and rear sensors, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control.

Options fitted here include the black style package with black roof rails, brushed aluminum trim elements, Valcona leather sport seats and 22-inch Audi Sport five-spoke alloy wheels. Titanium gray painted spokes. PHSAM tells us that this specification will be roughly the same as the one we will get when the Q8 e-tron is launched, although final details have not been provided.

In that regard, during a brief Q&A session with PHSAM executives Erik Winter and Kurt Leitner, it was revealed that the Q8 e-tron will launch in Malaysia around June this year.

Although not shown at the Singapore launch, the Q8 e-tron for Malaysia will also be available as the S line 55, offering a range of 481 km thanks to a larger battery pack with total power capacity. 114 kWh (106 kWh can be used).

The four-wheel drive system is also more powerful when providing 408 horsepower but maximum torque is maintained at 664 Nm. The Sportback version of the Q8 e-tron has a coupe-like roofline for a more dynamic look and will also be available in the two mentioned trim levels. Higher spec options naturally get more sets, as we’ve detailed in previous report.

Q8 e-tron will compete with bmw ix when it goes on sale here, with a second retail price of RM385,430 to RM528,430 (RM403,800 to RM546,800 when extended warranty and service pack included).
