Royal Enfield’s 650 motorcycle lineup has a new addition, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 2022, which was unveiled at the EICMA show in Italy. With the styling of a cruiser, the Super Meteor is a completely new design including the chassis, and is Royal Enfield’s first motorcycle with LED headlights.
Motivation is like its stable friends, Continental GT650 and Interceptor 650 (priced at RM48,500 and RM45,500 respectively in Malaysia), a 650 cc air/oil-cooled tandem engine and powered by EFI. Super Meteor produces 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of torque at 5,650 rpm with power sent to the rear wheels via chain drive and a six-speed gearbox.
Weighing 241 kg, the front of the car is held by a 43 mm diameter upside-down fork with a stroke of 120 mm while the rear is equipped with a double shock absorber with a journey of 101 mm and can adjust the preload. Wheel sizes are 19 inches at the front and 16 inches at the rear, wrapped in 100/90 and 150/80 rubber.
Braking is done with a single 320 mm disc at the front clamped by two-piston hydraulic calipers and a 300 mm single disc at the rear with two-piston calipers. Dual-channel ABS is standard equipment and the Super Meteor carries a 15.7-liter fuel tank.
Information required by the driver is displayed on the main meter which combines analog and digital while ancillary information is displayed on the secondary circular LCD panel which also displays navigation information when connected to electricity. driver’s smartphone. In addition to the base model Super Meteor 650, there is also a Tourer version equipped with factory accessories. These include rear seat backrests and a windshield with the driver being able to choose from seven different paint finishes to choose from.
