Stellantis is recalling 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Plug-in hybrid SUV due to a problem that can cause the engine to turn off while driving.
The recall, which includes 12,458 potentially affected vehicles in the United States, is intended to address a software issue that could cause communication loss between the transmission control module and the hybrid control processor, according to the report. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The agency said the loss of contact could cause the gasoline engine to stop working.

Stellantis told NHTSA it is not aware of any incidents or injuries related to the issue, although it has received 7 customer support requests, 10 warranty claims and 6 recorded field reports. this situation again.
Dealers will install the updated driver software free of charge as a remedy. This updated software has been rolled out during production beginning November 19, 2022. All 2022 Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid vehicles manufactured before that date are subject to the recall.
2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
This is the first recall to date for the Grand Cherokee 4xe, launched as a 2022 model year. 4xe driver, which uses the same plug-in hybrid powertrain aimed at maximizing off-road capability, was also previously recalled due to the possibility of engine shutdown.
