2022 3M Expansion Ratio, Sector: Surprising PGA Choices, Predictions from an Eight Major Nail Model

With the last golf on the books, the PGA Tour sprint to the FedEx Cup Playoffs is underway, and it kicks off with the 3M Open 2022. Opening Thursday from TPC Twin Cities near Minneapolis, The proper yard has a lot of water with it located in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. This tournament launched in 2019, but it has seen low scores with three winners averaging over 18 below par. With the British Open ending on Sunday, many of the top golfers will skip the 3M Open 2022 with time zone changes many times over before the pond.

Hideki Matsuyama is the only player to be ranked in the top 15 at the 3M Open 2022, and he is the second favorite on Caesars Sportsbook with a score of 16-1. That is just behind Tony Finau (12-1) in the latest 3M Open 2022 odds, while other contenders include Sungjae Im (18-1), Adam Hadwin (20-1) and Maverick McNealy ( 22-1). Before closing your 3M Open 2022 options, make sure see PGA Tour predictions and betting tips from SportsLine’s proven golf model.

The SportsLine-exclusive model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been a hit since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model has raised more than $10,300 in installments. Best bet since restart, tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model included JT Poston in the best bets to win the John Deere Classic 2022. That bet hit +5500 and for the entire tournament McClure’s best bets paid out. close to $1,100. At the 2022 Masters, McClure’s pattern was all of Scottie Scheffler’s career-first major championship wins over the weekend.

Beyond that, McClure’s best bets include Collin Morikawa winning the 2021 Open Championship outright, though he ranks among the huge 40-1 rangers. The pattern was also all in the way of Jon Rahm’s career-first major championship win (10-1) at the US Open 2021. Rahm had outsold the lead twice before heading into the weekend, but the model still predicts him as the winner.

This same model also nailed a whopping eight majors over the weekend. Anyone who has been following it has noticed huge profits.

Currently, the 3M Open 2022 field is locked, SportsLine has simulated the tournament 10,000 times and the results are surprising. Visit SportsLine now to see the expected standings.

3M Open 2022 Top Predictions

One big surprise this model is calling for at the 3M Open 2022: Finau, a two-time PGA Tour champion and Vegas favorite, can’t win it all and barely make it top 5. Despite shooting 66 on Sunday of the British Open, Finau only finished 28th at St. Andrews, this is still his best performance at any pro tournament this year. He’s missed as many (five) as the top 25 finish in the 2021-22 PGA Tour season and finished 28th at the event last year.

Finau has always been on the teeing ground but his accuracy has been a victim this year. He ranked only 144th in driving accuracy percentage (57.02), which could be detrimental to a course with 99 different hazards. Additionally, Finau is having the worst hitting season of his career, ranking 148th in strokes: putts (-.146). He is not a strong pick to win all and much better value in the field of 3M Open 2022.

Another surprise: JT Poston, a 35-1 long shot, produced a powerful hit at the title. Poston claimed his second PGA Tour win earlier this month, coming just a week after he finished second at the Travelers Championship. He has a much higher chance of winning than his odds, so he is a target for anyone looking for a big payday.

Poston also has another pair in the top 10 this season, and all four of those results come in his last 10 leagues. He’s a rising golfer who has a well-balanced game, ranking among the top 30 percent of the tournament in terms of strokes: off-the-tee (.278) and strokes reach: tee-to-green (.452). With this being a relatively weak field, someone like Poston could find himself near the top of this week’s rankings at TPC Twin Cities. See who else to choose here.
