Our boy has a very sensitive belly. He’s been tested and talked to by his chicken farmer as the biggest culprit (more importantly what the chickens are fed) and it’s in everything. When we scrapped his diet, he was fine – the food was duck potatoes and pea crumbs. Snacks are rabbit lugs, duck necks, duck feet and bug baits!!

Just sharing, don’t know if it works for your pet or not, of course it always works for me if there is no other cause for the problem. Veterinarians recommended this many years ago. Boil the hamburger gravy thoroughly, starting with a small serving a few times a day, then moving on to a little white rice (not brown rice) in it. If this is just a normal digestive glitch, you should start to see a change after about 3 days. Then add yogurt as a couple of scoops per feeding. Good luck!

Have you tried yet Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Veterinary Diet dish. Our boy is 6 years old and has the best poop of his life since we tried that dish. Also he may need probiotics. More fiber can help. Whole canned pumpkin and chickpeas are good sources of fiber. Have you checked for parasites?

Honest Kitchen Good for dogs with sensitive stomachs. We have a GSD who is allergic to almost everything, including most dog foods. We found one of their recipes that was hypoallergenic for him and it worked for him. Also, you should talk to your veterinarian. One of our GSDs had persistent diarrhea and our vet prescribed a course of metronidazole for her. You will most likely need to bring a stool sample, but metronidazole is often prescribed for intestinal problems.

I work in the pet food industry and in this situation I would recommend checking with your veterinarian first to make sure there is no underlying medical condition. Number two turns to pet-friendly beef kibble, which is a limited-ingredient diet with all the probiotics a dog needs to get. Healthy stools and healthy bowels. I add acidophilus or probiotics, which usually work. I take the capsules for easy separation and sprinkle in their food. I made my own and gave them 1/2 homemade & 1/2 canned. Homemade with little cheese, eggs, green beans, carrots, brown rice, chicken Liver and salted beef or chicken try to provide a variety of vitamins, minerals, protein, etc. In my experience, they are still fairly regular.

I tried everything for 2 years until Royal Canin finally entered our lives. It’s a veterinary prescription and expensive, but it’s like day and night. No more diarrhea. Also, Hills prescription diet for digestive care. We use this one now because it’s cheaper. Good luck

I have my allergy tested and she is allergic to lamb, duck, rice, barley, soy and lots of vegetables. There is no dog food that I can feed her. I feed her ground deer, chicken, eggs, liver, gizzards, turkey, salmon, beef and pork. I cook her egg noodles and cream of wheat with butter and mix cooked or raw meat in it. Eggs are also mixed into the cream of wheat and sometimes I add sugar. No more diarrhea, red inflamed skin and no more scratching.
