We all need help climbing a hill sometimes, and this is just the ticket.
“Make your cart go“is a fairly new company. They were sick and tired of pushing big carts around the set and figured out how to use battery power. This is probably not useful for small transport vehicles. However, the idea would be a huge help for transporting C-Stands, grippers, and heavy Pelican crates around town.
They mention that “Dual wheel model offers Cadillac trolley experience” but the single wheel is surprisingly easy to use. Their more powerful setup uses dedicated batteries, while “studio” models can use Gold mount batteries. Both models come with a cart-mounted throttle.
This system is compatible with Yaeger and Backstage strollers. It’s a bit disappointing that the Inovativ stroller isn’t compatible — not available at least. This will probably suit a lot of location photographers. However, I can’t imagine that an Inovativ setup would weigh nearly as much as a packaged device Super Duz cart.
The one-wheel pack sells for $2,250, which isn’t cheap. That’s basically the price of a basket of Yaeger Pro cameras. Prices go up to $3,550 for a more powerful model and a dedicated battery.
Personally, I’m not sure this is something I need to own. Still, it would be a really nice addition to the rental. Moving heavy cars on a summer day is no fun, and I want to avoid becoming a sweaty mess in front of clients. Do you think it’s worth the pain of dragging the car around?
