18 Disabled Dogs Play carefree on the beach thanks to a dedicated lifeguard

Just because a dog has a disability doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy the pure pleasures of a day by the ocean. Salt air, cool sea water, sand between their toes; what if you don’t love?

This past summer, Salima (Sally) Kadaoui, the founder SFT . Animal Sanctuary in Morocco, 18 extraordinary baby mice on their first field trip to the beach. With over 500 animals in care, Sally chose these special pups for a reason. Every person has mobility problems due to trauma and abuse suffered during the time they were lost.

A day on the beach

Most of the dogs in this particular group were hit by cars driven by reckless locals. Some lost limbs. Others rely on wheelchairs to get around. But you’ll never know it once they hit the beach! In a video shared by SFT, Sally rushes into a run as the dogs scatter around her, happily galloping across the sand.

One cheeky little dog even grabbed Sally’s flip-flop, shaking it gently before returning it at her request.

What could be more beautiful than watching dogs run free with the wind in their hair? These baby mice are survivors who have experienced pain and suffering that no innocent animal has to face. Despite their past, they wander and play without caring about the world. Perhaps we can all learn something from these remarkable rescue dogs.

SFT . Animal Sanctuary

As a young girl growing up in Tangier, Morocco, Sally dreamed of helping the city’s large population of stray dogs and cats. She saw them abandoned and starving, many sick and disabled.

In 2013, Sally embarked on the epic quest to make her dream come true. She lives with her sister in a small house on a modest budget, but she is determined to make a difference. Sally set out to find the most pitiful strays and take them to the vet to be neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any illness or injury.

When the number of animals increased to more than 50, Sally moved the SFT Animal Sanctuary to a 23 km of property outside of Tangier. It is currently home to more than 400 dogs, 120 cats and 30 donkeys.

In addition to the animals SFT saves, hundreds of other animals need their protection each year. They are working hard to educate the community, change attitudes, and teach love and compassion to make animals cruel and leave behind a thing of the past in Tangiers.

Help Sally continue her mission by donating or fostering one of SFT’s remarkable dogs.
