The man who rescued severely disabled dogs is said to be a pile of rags
In Winchester in Hampshire, UK, a construction worker named Matt Southcott was walking down the street when he saw a pile of rags. I don’t pay much attention to it, because hey, why would anyone bother with a pile of rags by the side of the road? But what shocked him was when he saw the moving rags. At first, he thought they were sheep because their fur was so soft that it was unrecognizable. As it turned out, what he saw weren’t rags or sheep – they were dogs with severely faded coats. But what’s even more heartbreaking is that they’re a family of dogs – a mother dog and her eight puppies.
When he realized that the “rags” were actually a family of dogs, Matt immediately contacted Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSCPA) so that they can be rescued.
It takes street vendors about 3 hours to shave each dog. The dogs not only get dirty and severely waxed, but they get scared every time someone touches them. These dogs have been severely neglected and they may have been mistreated and beaten.
The dogs are so dirty, it shows that they received little or no care from their previous owners. The mother dog even got rocks stuck in her paw pads. When groomers gathered all the fluff they shaved from the dogs, they could load three large sacks full.
The dog mama, about 8 years old, named Sian; and her children, about one year old, are named Fay, Mavis, Martha, Justin, Wills, Kate, Maria and Dave.
We are relieved to know that these dogs have been rescued and are now being cared for.
Thank you so much Matt for not ignoring these dogs and for calling the authorities to have them rescued. We are also very grateful for RSCPAendeavor to help these dogs and take care of them.
