NASA has reported that a 1049-foot-long asteroid, classified as potentially hazardous, will make its closest approach to Earth on March 14. The asteroid has been classified as potentially hazardous. NASA assigns this classification to any asteroid that comes closer than 7.4 million kilometers from Earth.
