Ys IX Co-op Multiplayer has been added on PC

There are many players in PC version belong to Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, as US NIS Local cooperation announcement is here. Those who download the free 1.1.2 patch can start playing with others. The second player is treated exactly the same as the first player. This means they can do everything the first player can do, like switch characters or find waypoints. However, the feature is called “experimental,” which means people may experience issues.

To begin WTF multiplayer, you need to play a bit and then enable co-op in the settings. Once it’s set up, everyone can use the two controllers to play together. (The message specifically refers to the controller, not the keyboard.) When a second player is present, the two can explore and battle together. As mentioned before, the second player can do things like trigger events or open chests just like player one. The only thing the player cannot do is use the map or the menu.

As for the experimental factor, NIS America presents two side effects of this. One is that the game can lock either player out of the game if the player is not careful. The other is that both characters control the camera.

Here’s a video showing how co-op multiplayer works in WTF on PC.
