YouTube bans Heartland Institute channel just before going live with climate scientist Judith Curry

Note: this is the basic story of what happened yesterday while I was running the in-person interview. While going live, we discovered that the YouTube stream was blocked, now we know why. – Anthony

The moderators at YouTube justified blocking Heartland’s channel because we allegedly gave out “misinformation” about the 2020 Election. We didn’t. And that is very suspicious time.

Every Friday at noon CT, the Heartland Institute hosts a live program that we call the Climate Change Roundtable. It is a timely discussion of the latest environmental and energy policy news, unlike the alarmist views that reverberate throughout the “mainstream” media. On Friday, January 6, 2023, we are delighted to invite Dr. Judith Curry as a special guest to the show.

Dr. Curry is the most famous and common climate scientists in the US – especially because she has a different perspective from the likes of Michael Mann and other alarmists. Dr. Curry is not a “climate denier,” as Mann calls her. She is a respected scientist who has reviewed the data, sees a warming world, but not an impending climate disaster that is all due to human error. Because of that, she’s been vilified and even more feared – including, obviously, by those who decide what and when to ban content on YouTube.

Heartland streams every show on YouTube, Facebook and Rumble. But the vast majority of our audience — both those who join the chat during the live stream and those who watch it afterward — watch on YouTube. Like it or not, it’s the most popular video streaming app in the world. Freelance-oriented sites like Rumble and BitChute have a long way to go to catch up.

Anyhow, just as we were finishing up our prep for the episode with Dr. Curry, we got a notice at the bottom of our YouTube channel that we’d been “warned” for spreading “information election bias” in an earlier video.

So literally just minutes to go before we went live with Dr. Curry and certainly had our biggest live audience, YouTube closed our channel and prevented anyone from watching it there.

The previous “insulting” video was an episode of Heartland’s In the Tank podcast, episode 293, to be streamed in early May 2021 — 20 months ago. YouTube did not specify what allegedly violated its terms of service and ban on “election misinformation.” And it doesn’t even notice for almost two years that a live stream that almost no one has watched since May 2021 (and almost impossible to find in general YouTube search) violated the terms of service… until just before a live stream failed Climate scientists alarm is about to begin.

It’s hard to believe that this is just a coincidence — that our algorithm accidentally discovered this alleged violation — and we were so unlucky that it happened just minutes before we go live with Dr. Curry.

A better explanation is this: The name “Judith Curry” was noticed by someone on YouTube — or maybe Michael Mann, who is sensitive to such things, especially about Dr. Curryand he reported that stream to YouTube — and then a man at YouTube decided that a live stream from a “climate realist” scientist should not be allowed. So the reason Heartland was supposed to spread “election misinformation” was created, the strike was launched, the stream stopped, and the people around were high five for a job well done by Left-wing censors at Alphabet/Google/YouTube.

But, as the character of “Mr. universe” said in the movie serenity:”You cannot stop the signal, Mal.And we don’t stop either. You can still watch our program with Dr. Curry. Not only do we stream to YouTube, but we also stream to Rumble and Facebook simultaneously. I’ve embedded the Rumble version of the program below. [NOTE: When you click the player below, if it says “blocked by an extension” and/or “loading,” just give it a minute. It might look “broken” for a bit, and then play. If you can’t watch it below at all, watch it on Rumble.]https://rumble.com/embed/v21kw2c/?pub=b414h

Heartland is currently prohibited from uploading any videos or streaming from our channel for a week — presumably until Friday, January 13 around noon CT. We’ll report back if our complaint is heard and what YouTube says.

Oh, how about Heartland violating YouTube’s terms of service by spreading “election misinformation” on a live stream so long ago? Why don’t you see and judge for yourself. Although the YouTube video was sent to Great Digital Beyond somewhere, Rumble version still exists. Don’t worry if you’re pressed for time. You don’t have to watch for too long. We talk about it at the beginning of the program and then move on to another topic after about 15 minutes.https://rumble.com/embed/ve0gpn/?pub=b414h

We are not talking about the outcome of the 2020 election, nor do we express any skepticism about the outcome. Why? Because a year ago we discussed notoriety Time magazine article titled “The secret history of the shadow campaign that saved the 2020 election.” That story reported, in the most positive way possible, of how the 2020 election was “fortified” with hundreds of millions of dollars in secret by Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg and other major donors. Democratic Party. it’s just simple that reading comprehension on podcast what? Time magazine reported – which is essential if you’re going to talk about it – is enough to get a previous video banned, which seems ridiculous.

In this latest supposed “misinformation” podcasts streaming from May 2021 That YouTube just noticed now, we had to explain why Donald Trump was permanently banned by Facebook. Even if questioning the outcome of an election is a prohibited offense, we didn’t do that. We talked about whether it is not a crime to ban people from expressing their views on social media.

To help us fight Big Tech censorship, subscribe Heartland’s YouTube channelas well as ours Stop the socialist TV channel where we live our In the Tank podcast every Thursday noon CT. We also post regular videos on roaring, BitChuteand Facebook — so click those links to follow us there. And if you want to make sure you never miss our audio content, subscribe to the Heartland Daily Podcast wherever you get your podcasts.

Postscript: I realized that today is January 6th. I know it’s like 9/11 and Pearl Harbor Day times 100 to the left and their “mainstream” media. So maybe they created the algorithm to flag any and all videos on platforms they may have missed in the last year or two, and make sure those are flagged and removed on this “special” day. But I haven’t seen any other complaints on social media about other people getting the treatment Heartland received from YouTube today.

And one more time: We don’t question the results of the 2020 Election on the “offensive” podcast. We said if Trump should be banned for what he said about the 2020 election, then banning Hillary Clinton for questioning the 2016 Election and Stacey Abrams saying the Georgia gubernatorial election hers was stolen is a fair game. That’s it. We did Not violates YouTube’s rules.
