Yorkton’s First Foal an Indiana-Bred Colt


Crestwood Farm stallions Yorkton represented by his first reported pony on February 3 when a pony came out Bayerly Seen (Bavaria -Supervised by First defense) was born at Arrowhead Thoroughbred Center near Fairland, In.

Bayerly Seen is half sister to Kentucky Derby presented by hopeful Woodford Reserve (G1) and winner Lecomte Stakes (G3) Call me at midnight (Midnight Lute ).

“This pony is so true, and the best foal is the first to be born on our farm,” said Brandi Steele, co-owner of the farm. “Momma is a wonderful young lady and handles his temper very well.”

The foal was bred by Lonnie Reynolds of Owensboro, Ky. Reynolds bred Thoroughbreds for seven years, two of which was while participating in the Indiana Purebred Breeds Development Program.

Yorkton raced from ages 2-6 in Ontario and along the East Coast of the United States for owner/raider Chiefswood Stables. The son of Sightstown collect wins in consecutive wins in Bold Venture Stakes (G3) on Honeysuckleof the aggregate course and also the winners and classification of the bets placed on the field there. From day 30 starting, he earned $546,332 and a 7-4-3 record. He is half brother to the winner of Gotham Stakes (G3) of 2021 Weyburn .
