Smart home brand Wyze is expanding access to its new AI-Fueled Video Search tool on mobile. As the name suggests, it gives people a way to look up security footage via text search. The feature is actually already available since the end of May as part of a beta program. Despite being available for months, Video Search still hasn’t had an official release, with the company clarifying that it’s just a “Pilot Version.”

According to WyzeThe queries you enter into the search engine can be as specific or vague as you want. Conversely, you can just type in the word “truck” and the feed will show a bunch of records that have trucks in them — or vehicles that closely match the description. The examples shown on the software page show a large truck.

The company admits that its Wyze Vision Language Model isn’t perfect. You may occasionally get “inconsistent results.” The brand is asking people who encounter any bugs to provide feedback so it can improve Video Search.
