WSBK 2023: Petronas sponsors MIE Racing, Hafizh Syahrin at WSBK 1000, Adam Norrodin at WSSP 600

Petronas Malaysia will sponsor MIE Racing for the 2023 World Superbike Championship (WSBK) in the Superbike and Supersport (WSSP) class. The Malaysian racers with MIE racing this season are Hafizh Syahrin And Adam Norrodinby Eric Granado and Tarran Mackenzie respectively.

MIE Racing will lobby the Honda CBR1000RR-R for the WSBK and the Honda CBR600RR in the WSSP. Both the CBR1000RR-R and CBR600RR will be decorated with Petronas’ signature teal green paint accented with the Petronas Sprinta lubricant logo.

The sponsorship agreement between Petronas and MIE Racing will allow captain Midori Moriwaki to expand his projects and set some ambitious goals for 2023 and beyond. This includes developing an ‘academic program’ for Malaysian talent using WSBK and WSSP as a platform.

Commenting on the launch of Petronas MIE Racing Honda, Datin Anita Azrina Abdul Aziz, Senior General Manager of Strategic Communications Group, Petronas, said, “We are very excited to see the riders perform, both at WorldSBK and WorldSSP. We will also have the opportunity to develop the skills of Malaysian talents in the two-wheeler segment, which we are looking forward to.”
